Endotoxins are fever-inducing toxins present in the cell walls of bacteria. For many medical devices, endotoxin testing is a requirement for batch release.
Gxene Biotech offers protein endotoxin testing services for scientists all over the world. Such testing service of biologically active endotoxin is achieved by a kinetic turbidimetric method, as the concentration of insoluble coagulin and the reaction mixture's turbidity simultaneously increase during the LAL reaction. The rate at which turbidity increases is the basis of the kinetic turbidimetric method and is related to the endotoxin concentration in the sample. We can also provide a gel-clot method for the detection of endotoxin levels in samples.
Endotoxin Testing Reaction Principle:
Endotoxin Testing Services Procedure:
-- Dynamic photometric instrument settings
Preheat the instrument, then set the incubation temperature (37 °C), wavelength (340 nm) and time.
-- Preparation of standard endotoxin solution:
1) Concentration: 0.5, 0.25, 0.125, 0.0625 EU/ml or 10, 1, 0.1, 0.01EU/ml.
2) Take 1 tube of standard endotoxin, add appropriate amount of water (0.5 ml-1.2 ml) and shake vigorously for 3-5 minutes on a vortex mixer.
3) Vortex for more than 30 seconds before each step.
-- Set negative control.
-- Dissolution of LAL reagent: Gently shake the tube until the LAL has dissolved completely.
-- Add samples: Adding 100μl water, endotoxin standard solution or test sample respectively.
-- Reading & results calculation.
